EZ Measurement Trainer
The EZ Measurement Trainer is an interactive educational tool that is also fun to use. It was thoughtfully designed to teach people of all ages to be able to accurately and efficiently read standard measurements. This system teaches an extremely important skill all while developing manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination and reaction skills through a board game type activity. The competition aspect encourages the participants to become much more engaged in the learning process. The EZ Measurement Trainer is a must have at the school, home and workplace.
EZ Measurement Trainer is a 14”x10”x1” ABS plastic game board with an enlarged representation of an inch. Included with the board is a built-in digital timer, 15 pegs with fractions printed on the top, and a full size template to easily check your work. Once you become familiar with the placement of the fraction pegs you can begin working on improving your accuracy and speed. To begin you will slide open the lid to the tray that contains the pegs, start the timer, select a peg and place it in the appropriate location on the board and continue until all the pegs are placed. Then you will stop the timer and check your work with the included template. There are five levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert and elite. The goal is to get your accuracy and time at the elite level, so you become proficient in identifying the fractions of a tape measure.

As a 4th grade teacher I always dreaded when we reached the fraction unit in our math book. I’ve taught for 25 years and in the past we taught fractions using a pizza. Many students struggled especially when it came time to measure using a ruler. When common core math came about and we began teaching using a number line, it was still difficult instructing the students on recognizing fractions. That was until I introduced the EZ Measurement Trainer and the difference was unbelievable. My students began using the trainer and within a week of using it many of the students went from over 3 minutes to less than 20 seconds to complete the task with 100% accuracy. My students are allowed to practice with it when their work is complete. I have an ongoing list of names on the board of students wanting their turn. It consumes all of their free time.
