As a 4th grade teacher I always dreaded when we reached the fraction unit in our math book.  I’ve taught for 25 years and in the past we taught fractions using a pizza.  Many students struggled especially when it came time to measure using a ruler.  When common core math came about and we began teaching using a number line, it was still difficult instructing the students on recognizing fractions.  That was until I introduced the EZ Measurement Trainer and the difference was unbelievable.  My students began using the trainer and within a week of using it many of the students went from over 3 minutes to less than 20 seconds to complete the task with 100% accuracy.  My students are allowed to practice with it when their work is complete.  I have an ongoing list of names on the board of students wanting their turn.  It consumes all of their free time.  As soon as their turn is over they are writing their name back on the board.  It’s turned the dreaded fraction unit into a unit that I and the students really enjoy.  I would definitely recommend having several EZ Measurement Trainers in every classroom.
